1. What do I do if I get a traffic ticket?

You may answer the traffic ticket through the mail if it is not a misdemeanor charge. If pleading guilty, you would complete Part A and mail it to the court. The court would then send you a fine notice.

If pleading not guilty, you would complete Part B and mail it to the court. The court would then schedule you for a pretrial conference and notify you of the date and time. You may also appear in person on the date and time listed on the ticket.

2. What do I do if I get a suspension notice?

You should immediately contact the court to determine the reason for the suspension. It is important that you resolve the matter prior to the effective date of the suspension or you will be subject to a NYS imposed Suspension Termination Fee of $70 per ticket to lift the suspension.
