Weather Emergencies

In the past tornado watches and warnings have been declared for the Town and fortunately a tornado never materialized. Nevertheless the time to plan for weather and non-weather related emergencies is now, not when they are occurring.

The Town has also designated Star 101.3 FM and WGY AM as radio stations to tune to for emergency information. Weather radios are also a good source of information related to storms and can be purchased from various retail stores.

FOX 23 has also implemented a new weather alert system to which viewers can register to receive notification of school / business closings and/or severe weather alerts. We encourage you to go to the FOX 23 website and sign up for this program, which will provide you with another source from which to receive important information.
