Building & Planning Update

  • VisionaryPark– second building under construction now
  • Park Place– Project has all approvals, club house under construction now. One additional home permited.
  • CVS – approved, site work in progress.
  • 30 State Farm Place– Certificate of Occupancy just issued
  • 128 Dunning Street– Plaza work ongoing, ChineseRestaurantCC’d

Luther Forest Technology Campus:  A new company formed under current AMD leadership has made a commitment to Malta, and Luther Forest Technology Campus to purchase +/- 230 acres for the development of a chip fabrication site.  The newly formed corporation, Global Foundries has submitted their Site Plan Proposal.  Town officials, staff, and emergency services have been working closely with AMD representatives to ensure a smooth transition between design and construction.  Global Foundries will build FAB 4x has submitted a 3 stage Site Plan delineating limits of clearing and grading, temporary construction facilities, and final site plan.  Mitigation measures, construction traffic routes, construction schedules, and building architecture will be reviewed during this process.

HVCC TEC-SMART:  Hudson Valley Community College has developed a partnership with New York State Energy and Research Development Authority to develop a satellite campus on NYS property off of Hermes Rd in Luther Forest.  The Training and Education Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing and Alternative and Renewable Technologies (TEC-SMART) will have a functioning geothermal heating system, photo voltaic cells, and wind turbine.  This facility will help equip students with tools to use in fields such as semiconductor manufacturing and renewable energy.  Construction is expected to begin in the spring.  For more information please visit: www.hvcc.edu/news_events/tecsmart-proposal.pdf

Wilber Bank: A regional banking headquarters for Wilber Bank has been approved for a property between the Getty gas station and Malta Ambulance Corps on Route 9.  The three story brick structure will house Wilber Bank, as well as retail and professional uses.

Saratoga Malta LLC: has received approval from the planning board to construct a 3 story, 85,000 sf., state of the art medical facility.  This project is located adjacent to the Malta Ridge Fire House at the intersection of Hearn Road and Route 9.
