PERMIT APPLICATIONS

These permit applications are available in PDF format and may be printed for your convenience.

#1) Print out form using Adobe Reader.

#2) Fill out 4 copies of the permit application and bring them in to the Building and Planning department.

#3) Please note, the Building and Planning Department needs to have your original signature on the permits when you hand them in. Please note that photocopied signatures are not acceptable.

#4) The Building and Planning Department needs to have a plot plan showing the location of any new construction with drawings to match. The applicant also needs to show all setbacks on the plan.

#5) Please check with the Building and Planning Department for specific information pertaining to a particular permit. 899-2685

Each zoning district has a list of uses that require a special use permit prior to instituting the use. Special uses are those uses that will have a special impact or unique form which requires a case-by-case review to determine if the proposed specific use will conform to the Town’s Master Plan, as well as the vision of the neighborhood in which the use is proposed. Please refer to the Code of the Town of Malta, section 167-38.1.

             Any alteration of lot lines or dimensions of any lots as shown on a plat previously approved and filed in the office of the Saratoga County Clerk. Please refer to the Code of the Town of Malta, Chapter 143.

            Any subdivision containing not more than 4 lots fronting on an existing street. A minor subdivision cannot involve any new street/road, extension of municipal facilities or adversely affect the development of the remainder of the parcel or adjoining property. In addition, it cannot be in conflict with any provision or portion of the Master Plan, Chapter 167, Zoning, the Official Map or these subdivision regulations. Please refer to the Code of the Town of Malta, Chapter 143.

  • Major Sub-division

    Any subdivision not classified as a minor subdivision which includes subdivisions of 5 or more lots or any size subdivision which requires any new street or extension of municipal facilities. Please refer to the Code of the Town of Malta, Chapter 143.

 

A planned development district is intended to provide a means for the development of entirely new residential, commercial or industrial subdivisions, parks or estates or creative architectural or planning concepts which may be used by the developer without departing from the spirit and intent of the Town’s Master Plan while substantially benefiting the Town in a manner not otherwise available through development under the Town’s existing zoning. Please refer to the Code of the Town of Malta, section 167-26, Article VII.

A site plan review is applicable to any proposed erection, relocation or alteration of any commercial building on any tract of land. Please refer to the Code of the Town of Malta, section 167-24, Article VI.

The full EAF is intended to provide a method whereby applicants and agencies can be assured that the determination process has been orderly, comprehensive in nature, yet flexible enough to allow introduction of information to fit a project or action.
