Malta Bus Service – Use It Or Lose It!

Dear Residents:

After receiving a phone call from the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) in April that bus service in Malta was being cut back, we’re pleased to learn that a federal grant from the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program will allow bus service to continue.

The new route, named Route #409, will serve neighborhoods, mobile home parks, apartment complexes, businesses, and shopping centers located in Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Round Lake, Malta, and Saratoga Springs. It will operate on Route 9 between Clifton Park and Saratoga Springs. Attached is a schedule and route map. For more details, contact Flo Sickels at 899-2552 or CDTA at 482-8822.

The Town is hoping this service will attract commuters traveling to their jobs and shoppers traveling to stores and businesses. If CDTA does not attract 15 customers per hour, bus service in Malta may be reduced or eliminated. We encourage all residents to take advantage of this economical service so that this can become a permanent service in the future.

Sincerely,

Paul J. Sausville
